Remember that while the estimates are longer than many feel reasonable, the guy is running a business and has to warranty the work.

As has been asked before, are these labour estimates or the amount of time he'd want the bike for the jobs?

I understand hes wanting to make a livin but he works by the hour and everything seems to be longer than that of people on this forum, believe it or not but i know people that swear by this shop, it just seems like he was wanting a cash injection at my expense..

£30ph is pretty good for labour rates, and least down south, you tight northerners may have it different

£60 to have a pipe fitted isn't the end of the world, but I'd still do it myself, even without any prior mechanical experience, it's very simple

Couple of hours for shock is reasonable guess, remember it is not straight swap, you have to offer stuff up, chop, refit... maybe seized bolts... if he is thorough he will lubricate linkage bearings too.

Could he be giving you worst case? (would still be a bit much for the exhaust).

Could be it comes in at less, but he'd rather impress than disappoint... (has he actually looked at the bike?)
