Apparently ahm a muppet for not doing a service bordering on the extreme every time I take the bike out, oh well, the joys of biking, (sorry being nippy there) and forgetting the M.O.T. doesn't mean the bike is safe or in good nick just that its passed the tests that they do. So a service schedule needs to be drawn up, every six weeks?, oil, plugs, filter, check and re-rubber grease the brake calipers, check the wear on the chain and sprockets (checking adjustment before every ride) and taking note of the cables and any oddities arising as I bimble about.
Does that sound all right? Advice greatfully received.
Every 6 weeks about right if you do 100k a year.* As much as I'm sure you're being sarcastic, if you let us know what sort of riding you do and what mileage you cover I'd be happy to suggest an approximate service schedule.

*Actually you will be changing oil sooner than this. I have a mate/had a customer who did this sort of mileage. Teaching him how to do his own stuff was worst mistake I made!

Annual mileage is between about 10000 - 12000 roughly roundabout, the bike is mostly used as a toy for bimbles.
Bearing in mind I'm in no way a fitter and if something is broken I tend to fix/bodge rather than just replace bits.
