If an SV650 has a flat tyre in the forest and no-one is there to blow it up, how long will it be 'til someone posts that the reg/rec is duff and the world will end unless a CBR unit is fitted? This area I stated was taught to us as trainee instructors both by the company and by the DSA so........... but can't argue with your regulation handbook can I! Mine is on the right cos I'm such a rebel! lol.

Not according to the regs I found.
True they are from 2002 and it is entirely possible they have been superseded, but they state what has always been my understanding; the disc must be displayed on the left, there is no mention of where on the bike.
