Certainly not enough to cook the pads though. It sounds like it's just boiled - bleed it and it should be fine. Are they braided lines or standard?

you'll see on the RAF leeming vid there's a bit where I run into a corner too hot - if my back brake had been working properly I reckon it would have just about scrubbed enough speed to stop me running 2 ft onto the wet grass...

Tis nice to shave some speed of gently sometimes - me and irksy dan both do it, and there's nothing gay about it thank you very much.. (love you dan xx)

Irksy dan who fell off from losing back tyre at last one?

Nothing to do with rear brake... you were distracted by my sexy leathers.

apparently that was due to a squared off tyre? those comedy 90's leathers did actually dazzle me a bit, hence why I tried a bit of motorcross over wet grass on sticky touring tyres

+1! I have rear race pads and a wavy rear disc that have never been used

But then I missed a gear and proved that the SV can indeed rev to 13,000 rpm.

I sharn't (a much under used word) be doing that again soon!

I only remembered my track bike had a back brake when the front ones failed....

I guess it's possible you're been "comfort" dragging it a bit and overheated the fluid, especially if it's fairly old anyway. Change the fluid, give the pistons and surfaces a good clean/lube and check all moves freely, then leave it alone!
