Yeah I'd agree with Specialone. If I saw them I wouldn't intervene.
Chances are you would go out all guns blazing and be met with:

TBH if a load of bodies and a van on your doorstep with lots of bits missing from a sustained bout of high velocity asset retaining isn't enough of a deterrent you want to be thinking about moving to a better area!!

Unfortunately if they want it they'll get it. Can you put some decent CCTV up so you can hopefully get the van reg or even a snapshot of one of them? Cameras are a lot cheaper than they used to be. Or chain it to something, but this just slows people down. I take it you can't have a metal shed or anything to hide future bikes in?
