I have been doing a mix of days and nights so it will go 2 days then quick change over onto 2 nights. It would be 0700-1900 (E) then 1900-0700 (N)
you will tried, shifts mess up espically night shift. So all 12 hour shifts...
On change over day I would stay up late as possiable then go to sleep, but it easier said than do as I would be up about 0530 to get in ready for just before 0700. Then when your done working go bed soon as you get home get up about 1300, then have reasonably early night to rest your body clock. Keep as fit as you can, when I worked 8 hour night shifts I wouldn't eat for the shift. I try not to eat after midnight either on 12 hour shifts, its hard work though.
Good luck.

I'm an Apple Mac Operator at a carton printer, so will be sitting at a computer for the whole shift. At the minute it's just a trial, but think they will try to make it permanent - if it goes permanent I'm hoping it's just me on nights as the money is better that way. If it's a rotating shift we get basic plus 33%, and you only get the 33% on the week you do nights. Permanent nights get basic plus 60%.
They're being flexible on the start-finish times too, but think I'll do 20.00 to 08.00 as my daughter starts nursery at 9am so I can take her there.
If (when) it goes permanent it will change to 8 hour shifts, 22.00 to 06.00.
Thanks again for the advice, I'll maybe post up at the end of next week to say how knackered I am!
