My Akito trousers seem to be fully waterproof, its my jacket that lets the water in. And I have been out in some seriously heavy downpours
I may well invest in goretex stuff later in the winter. David |

I've got some Held Aqua waterproof over trousers. They were recommended by Ride magazine. I've found them to be excellent and, as they're over trousers, not that expensive either. I ought to buy the jacket too, as my FT jacket isn't very waterproof. Got mine from Get Geared:

*plug alert - I work for this company *
But... I wear a pair of these over my Hood jeans and they've been 100% waterproof so far in all weathers, including horizontal flash floods during last year's 'Summer' tour of Scotland. Fashionable, they are not, but waterproof they are... Last edited by JamesMio; 23-11-11 at 09:59 PM. |

My 14 year old bargain bin special HG '80s colour scheme' all in one oversuit is still waterproof. My Spada textiles keep out the worst rain N. Wales can throw at them. All relatively budget kit kit, but it works.

Tiger55 had a set of Spada textiles on the first time I joined on the Ecosse annual Aviemore run and they kept him bone dry in some of the foulest weather I've even been in.
(My HG / Lewis textiles have also been 100% waterproof too). |

Thank you for all the offers and advice. Went to Graham Tiso in Edinburgh today and bought a £45 pair of Berghaus trousers. The zips are free running and come up almost to your hips, so very easy to get on/off.
Lightweight, breathable, etc, etc.... Should do the job. Time and rain will tell.... Cheers.

Go to ya local army store hand over £20 get some decent waterproofs trousers! Viola - decent, real waterproofs at a decent price!
If you do get 2 piece - make sure jacket goes over trousers so the water can run away and not into the top of your trousers! - same with gloves - put jacket sleeves over the gloves , and put trousers over boots so water runs over not into them (probably telling ya how to suck eggs, but its always good to know! lol) |

To answer your question, of course there are. But do you want a pair of motorcycle trousers that are waterproof as well as being protective, or are you after a pair of waterproof over-trousers to wear on top of whatever you're wearing?
