I've had my y2k from new. Can't see myself ever getting rid but then again its only worth a fraction of what I've spent on it.
If it was standard I'd have sold it but with sorted suspension and brakes the SV is a fantastic track toy (and even better with an extra 15% more power), I've yet to find anything that I like more. Druid

Ive had my sv for over 18 months now, and this summer seriously thought about trading it in for a bigger v twin, either vtr, or sv thou, but in the end didnt really need a bigger capacity bike.
Im hooked on the sound, had a couple of inline 4`s, and they just dont do anything for me now. its fast enough for my needs, and handles well, so what more do I need, oh and sounds superb!! |

I've not been riding long at all, but it's my plan to keep my SV forever to bimble about on and abuse and to get either a street triple R, Tuono or a ss600 or 750 to have as an ultimate back road tool in a couple of years.

I'm sure I'll be keeping mine for ever. It's my first and only bike, bought for the commute daily. I have regularly maintained it and added a few comfort options. I like it a lot and rebuilt it after my off last year. It will need looking after from all the bad weather miles I do but so would any bike I had. Maybe I'm a little odd but I still have my first and only car too, a series 2a Landrover. I rebuilt that too and have made it into a daily driver (as much as they can be).

I didn't find the SV particularly comfortable, and much prefer my VFR for longer rides.
I've lent my SV to one of my mates for a while, but when I get it back I plan to keep it for riding into London where the VFR feels a bit big and unwieldy. |

I was thinking of selling mine earlier this year and was looking on e-bay for my next bike.
Ended up buying another SV and keeping the one I've got. ![]() I'll maybe get something else next year but I'll have an SV in the garage for the forseeable future. Even in standard trim they're a decent handling bike with a great engine. |

If I will afford to keep 2 bikes, then I think this one is indeed a keeper. Love every minute on it an regret I don't have more time to ride it ever day.
I am dreaming of an ST, VFR1200 or even RT1200. It's not going to happen for at least a couple of years so will have to wait and see... |
