No they are steady readings, i've also carried out the tests that D'Ecosses suggests at the beginning of the link and all seems to be fine. Even when I reeve it way up past 5K its still steady, doesn't climb.

My only reservation with recommending it to others is in that persons ability to solder the new connector onto the old (spliced and soldered). Because if this is done in a botched way (cheap compression connectors) it has the potential to cause spikes / shorting.

Another thing I was worried about was the stator order but obviously it doesn't matter, its just AC load input.

I chose this particular rectifier because when you look at its model range its long, must be about 50 bikes on the list. Including my former love, the NTV. Almost a 'General Purpose' rectifier.

I did also get a '5 Way AMP Superseal waterproof Connector' like connectors used on the Ducatti but in the end just used the old one.

I wouldn't solder vehicle stuff unless the connector is specified as such and suitably enclosed.
Vehicles are bad places for soldered joints due to corrosion - that's one of the reasons why the original looms are made with crimp joints, which aren't, (if done correctly of course), 'cheap'.
