I'm 6"2 and found that I was a little too big for a curvy, I swapped for a 53 plate pointy and it's better.

Like you I find that with my feet back on the pegs is a much nicer position!

Although on the motorway it's not that comfortable to be like that as the wind in your face is a nightmare being so high up...!

So I invested in a MRA spoiler screen which is the smoked colour. Easily the best purchase I ever make! Well recommend it, if I remember when I get home and get the bike out I'll try and upload a pic.

Getting back to seating position... I also slide my ass back so it touches the pulling seat.

even slow speed town riding is annoying as i feel like i just want to stay in 2nd or third and ride in the comfortable position. I have a size 12 boot and i definitely cant use the controls with my toes on the pegs. i have to move my feet forward so that the centre ish part of my foot is on the footrest thus changing the riding position and feeling unsettled.

I'm 6"4 with long legs, hence the username.... I don't find changing leg position to operate the controls a problem, you have to do it... but I do find that my feet start to complain about being squashed after a while.

Have you tried adjusting the height/angle of the gear and rear brake levers? When I first got my curvy, changing gear was a complete pain. Adjusting the lever angle made it much easier to get my foot under the lever without having to change the angle of my foot too much.

skid you make a valid point! Im a new rider so im still learning from you wise gentlefolk. I use the gears for breaking so feel like they should be accesible at all times. Skid if you plan a ride out or something could i join and pick some more tips?

lanky i havent changed the angles of the rear controls; i should look at this! what i find is that when i change my foot position my body kind of rolls to the rear almost as if my hips are rotating backwards. this is the uncomfortable bit! maybe i use my gears too much? I have only just discovered the joy of staying in second or third for my city stop start!

Sorry if it sounds coarse.

Once you learn to use your weight, most of the things said will make a lot more sense

6'2" and you have answered your own question-"Just not fitting" The SV is not a big bike so you have to make alterations be it to you or the bike,alternatively buy a bigger bike that fits you stature
