Sometimes I can't remember why I went upstairs.

I was refitting an exhaust recently and got interrupted halfway through. Came back out to the garage no more than an hour later and carried on but just couldn't get the header to seat properly. I took it on and off four or five times before I realised I'd fitted a second copper gasket.

Being a shift worker all my life, and often having to grab sleep whenever I can, I've come home from an early at 2pm, gone for a snooze, woken at 5pm, thinking its 5am and rushed off to work thinking I'm late for the 6am start..

I've done an oil drain and then replaced the oil without fitting the sump plug. I knew how much oil should be going back in so didn't bother checking the level until I was at that stage. It took a couple of seconds and a head scratch before I realised what I had done. That was an expensive service.
