I have only experianced Motrax once, my verdict... Cheap, badly made tat, I should not have to dismantle a brand new indicator and basicly re-make the bulb holder before it will work. Thats the first and last motrax item I will buy.

3 experiences with Motrax and Frank Thomas (own Motrax), only thing that is decent is the Rear paddock stand which a lot sturdier that most and fairly compact.

The roadside kit has screwbits made out of worse material that suzuki bolts (some mean feat!!) and the sockets are pointless as there isn't anything to use as a lever!

The Frank Thomas Rucksack (Cargo Endurance) I've got had to be replaced after a week after it fell to pieces and the replacement isn't going to last much longer

I'm not going to jump on the hater band wagon...but!

If you end up paying the £90 and you bin it and cause $$$ damage then at least you can rest on the fact you tried...

If you pay £30 on bungs, bin it and cause $$$ damage... you'll want to smash yourself in the head with something hard...if only i'd saved the extra...i may have saved $$$... ???

Thats they way i look at it...

I reckon cheap bungs are OK as long as you realise they will only save damage in a stationary or very slow drop.
The dearer ones are better, but if you drop it at any speed nothing will save it from damage when it hits kerbs trees lamp posts or other vehicles.

R&G are market leaders for a reason proven design and tried and tested on road + track

As BB said it only saves it in drops

Thanks for thinking of us Baggy. Nice to know when discounts pop up. As already mentioned, motrax wouldn't be a good choice to protect your pride and joy

I am a firm hate of 'the look' of crash bungs, i think they do ruin the look of bikes.

But R&G bungs do work in the right circumstances.

This stayed on the bike and didn't bend or anything like that...

and they started off this size...

and bearing in mind the bike slid for a good 100m or more at 80mph+ they did a sterling job...

My clutch and gear shifter were not even touched.

However the circumstances that they will work are pretty slim.

Great for droping your bike with nothing to hit, or in a car park. But at speed on the road they will do nothing as you will hit street furniture or kerb, on the track (I was probably lucky) great for a slow low side but anything else as soon as your bike hit the litter or grass it will start flipping generally from what I have seen.

Don't waste your money on motrax tat, its crap and they are scumbags. Buy motosliders or R&G

I disagree. I've dropped it at 45mph, not what you would call very slow and it certainly didn't feel stationary. I'm confident crash bungs would have saved most if not all the damage.

I've also dropped it at 30mph and crash bungs meant I picked it up and rode home.

I had R&G bungs on one of my offs and the bike slid a considerable length down the road and that was after a heavy fall on its side. The bung stayed right where it should and did its job of wearing down the puck and not bits of the bike.
