Admittedly the sight of me in leathers is a bit scary but i would never have thought i looked threatening. I was NOT impressed!
I thought they would have prefered you keep it on...

Maybe they thought you were going to join in with the film!

I would have left without seeing the film.

Who pays for it? Did you get a receipt for handing over a potentially expensive and fragile piece of kit?
You don't find out until you have next crash and get brain damaged.

That would be my reason for not handing it over.

I'd have just told him a firm but polite "No"

Anybody that asks me to remove my lid gets told in no uncertain terms to go and get Forked , anywhere that asks me to leave a lid due to H and E reasons gets the same . It is a piece of PERSONAL protective Equipment , it is MINE and mine alone , it is expensive and I see NO reason for it .

I was told to remove a lid in KFC , when questioned why , the "Child" said "cos it`s illegal" ............. wrong , I have not been back in 4 years as a customer to ANY KFC .

I was asked to remove my Lid and Winter kit at a Petrol Station , when asked why the "Manageress" said that it was "Shell Policy" ........ Wrong , the other 2 Shell garages I go to NEVER ask . I have not returned to this one in the last 3 years (even though it is my nearest one)

If I am going somewhere that my gear may cause I problem I take my topbox and drop it all inside it if I can . Last time I went to the cinema on the bike the lid stayed on my lap .

That is horrifyingly scary and it would worry me if I was asked to hand over my helmet, I doubt that Wifey would hand hers over.

I just spoke to her and asked her what she would advise as an instructor. She said that she would want a signed receipt that agreed to replace or refund full price of helmet if damaged, she would only hand it over if it was to be put into a locked room and stored in a way that would not allow it to get damaged, but she was still unlikely to hand it over. Her most likely response would be to ask for a ticket refund and find somewhere that was less officious.

It is handy having a hard nut girlfriend at these times, it is also quite funny to see officious managers trying to deal with her when she is cross. What ever happened to the biker image of not being messed with?
