i think this is all down to the 3g network. Spoke to a guy at o2 and he basically said the network cannot handle the amount of traffic so many smart phones now end up with bad signal. Not sure about other companies but o2 are now limiting the amount you can use 3g for free surfing the internet on your phone to try and cut this issue.
some people may not have any problems but maybe they get lucky in that they dont use the phone to much so dont really notice it dropping signal. This theory seems to make sense, whenever im in a shopping centre and even at a football match i loose 3g alot (lots of people in the same area using smart phones) |

Gav...I think it's just you...
But seriously, I think the suggestion its the networks is probably correct, networks crashing all the time etc etc. They clearly can't handle the volume of traffic from smartphones. Joke considering the amount of money they rip us off for. |

Foxy is on the same network as me. She has a bog standard old school phone. When mine shows loss of signal, hers is just fine.

My HTC is the same but I dont have to turn it off and on to get signal back. It looses signal more time that it has signal and when it picks up a signal it goes into the 'slect network' screen. I have to select manually select the network to get it back on track. But if I am not looking at the phone I do not know when its out of range. IMHO its useless and absolute rubbish. I can have signal, receive a call and it will go straight to answerphone. HTS are good if you have wi-fi anf want to use the net, but if you want a phone ...pfffft RUBBISH !!! And if I turn it off, it takes FOREVER to power down, talking 15mins or so. ???? WTF

My employer has about 3000 phones running Windows mobile, and I haven't met a colleague yet that thinks his is fit for purpose, it wasn't the phone, or the network, it was the operating system. We are all switching over to Android or iPhone when our phones come up for replacement.

Seems to be, the more stuff they have or do, the worse phones they become. |
