There's a guy on OSS despatches on one, really rates it, he's done some astronomical mileage too.

All sounding good so far. I must go in search of a late low mileage one.

Thanks guys.

Not sure what mpg you're used to but IIRC he gets 40 or so, I'm surprised as I thought they'd be worse.

Sounds like the chap on the SV1000 portal... think he's up to nearly 100k miles and still going strong...

There's plenty of people on 650s that use more fuel than my SV1000.

No, I don't know how they manage that.

Lozzo: Strom is great - if you can find one take a look at the rebadged Kawasaki version, they usually hold a bit less value and the screen and clocks are better.

Ooh good point, Sid. I'd forgotten about the KLV, and it would keep my old mates at the Kawasaki shop happy too. Thanks for reminding me.

Hmm, this one looks even better, being 3 years newer and in black not the gash orange

Depending on age versus price requirements have you considered other big twins, what about a KTM 990 Adventure?

£5700 - K6 - 7K Miles - Black: http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classifi...01040370043371

Just a thought...get an ABS model for a bit more...

Or if you can wait a couple of years for older second hand a KTM SMT, which is most likely what I'll end up with when I can afford it
