I think D10A is '67/'68.
Also I seem to recall that the 'A' means four speed. A D10 engine in most models is 3 speed but I have a feeling all Bushman models are 4 speed. Is the frame prefix BD10?

That makes it quite a rare bike then.My first ever bike was a D7,but it came my way because it only had one gear.Top.The other two were in bits at the bottom of the box. When I fixed it I could get nearly 60 mph out of it.Result.

Yes, I think it would be, I have a feeling that '67 would be early for a Bushman, (perhaps the first year?).
I don't remember a model called a Bushman Sport, I'm sure there were two models the Bushman and the Sport. Having had a further think on it, I'm slightly sure a D10A is a four speed, the D10 is three but all the D10'X', where 'X' is A,B,C,D... etc are four speed. Maybe - the details are a little vague in what's left of my memory of such things.

3 sites that may interest you in your restoration - takes me back to my first road bike - a 1955 BSA Bantam 150 D5 with plunger frame - close ratio gearbox and a leather tank cover!!! Great fun.

I am now even more confused following martin15s link to "bantam150.com" site.
I purchased a BUSHMAN AUSTRALIA D14 in September 1968 from Vale Onslow in Birmingham, colour bright orange with a wheel size of 21" front and 18" rear shod with trials tyres, the site lists it as a prototype in 1971 ???. My bike was coverted with the aid of Small Heath comp-dept, to a full trials bike, which I had minor sucess with before changing to spanish Bultaco and Montessa. I will have a search through my "history" and see if I have any manual/paperwork remaing. As I recall the bushman was available in blue/red/green the Australia in orange only, the exhaust should have a full length perforated heat shield, weighing about 2kg? The Amal concentric carb was one of the first to be used on a production low value bike. Ensure you check ALL welds as these were a weak point and certainly with competition bikes of which there were many variants, they were either over-welded or plated for added strength. |

Not that odd - removal of random bot-like repetition from a new 'member' whose sig is adverts.
