My sister binned the bike on the swerve although she has rebooked - good on her! My advice to her will be same to you... Relax and don't rush!! You have two attempts to get speed up so use your first run as a practice to get settled and then just build your speed up on the 2nd run!

On slow manoeuvre and your getting to fast or your wobbly - stop and explain to the chap your hand was slipping due to your gloves! As in real moving traffic you can do this so you won't fail!

Relax and enjoy it!

I really wouldn't suggest stopping and saying that. Not a good idea at all in my opinion. I'd just try and stay calm and continue.

WR87, welcome to the forum. I passed my mod 1 in November last year, I found this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bYOUWHrqDJg so much help and watched it repeatedly. I had to retake it as I failed for locking the back wheel in an emergency stop (at the very end!) as it was in the wet. Tip for e-stop? If you feel the back locking then immediately release the rear brake, they won't fail you even if you've had a wobble, so long as you managed to correct it by releasing it. That's what I was told anyway.

Deep breaths before every manoeuvre, take them in your own time and remember those lifesavers! You won't be asked to indicate (I certainly don't remember doing any) throughout the mod 1 so that's one less thing to worry about.
Lastly, best of luck! Best feeling in the world once you've passed knowing you won't have to do another u-turn again...I'm waiting to take my mod2 soon, when I can afford it. One thing's for sure, these things aren't cheap!

£30? Costs £15 for the test but then you have the bike hire...about £90 in all. Not that money is really an issue, you want that test certificate you're going to pay regardless!

@reeder - Oh yea I wouldn't say do it if your doing ok like but it's better then failing and at least you will have an excuse planned which could prove useful!

The slow control is to mimic slow moving traffic - if your bikes getting away from you then you'd stop! Quite a genuine excuse! I know it's not ideal but hey rules are their to be bent!

I was told that putting your foot down at all on the mod one doing manouvers was a fail, regardless of an excuse? Surely saying your glove is slipping is a bad one as well, as they should be fitted and secured properly?

Just what I'd heard and my opinion
