Yeah some of the pikeys dont just look for scrap metal as they are driving round, feckers

Ive stood and stared at a few as they have drove slowly past my house while ive had the garage open, my van obscures a lot tbh, but still wouldnt trust them.

Sprints and the like are not the normal targets for dumb ass pikeys, they want the sports bikes etc i would presume, but i guess they will nick anything if it aint bolted down.

I've ridden my KTM into my road when the pikeys were about.
All eyes came my direction so I kept going, over the pavement and through one of the parks till they had gone.

Not worth the hastle.

Bung an extra lock on the bike and the garage door to be on the safe side.

I know a guy that's got a bmw 320ci sport and last week he took it for its MOT, He pulled up outside the mot centre got out the car (car still running) walked round to the bonnet, lent on the car bonnet and shouted to the mot tester "shall i pull her straight in?" suddenly the car went backwards and some fecker nicked it!!! cheeky buggers!! the old bill have found it but its in a bad way and at mo is in the hands of the insurers.

A few weeks ago, I spotted a couple of dodgy looking blokes in at white van that was driving up and down every side street near where I live. I wondered if they were looking for things (like bikes) to nick and flagged down a passing cop car to report my suspicions. The cops went to check it out, but I've no idea what the outcome was.

I've just started calming down , it does really get to you when someone f'ks with your bike

Should not really get that attached to a piece of metal , but u can't help it

One thing I won't be doing again is leaving bike on drive

Will also start chaining bike up / steering lock on in garage

sad times we live in

My insurance excess doubles if the bike is stolen from within 500 yds of my garage, but isn't locked IN my garage.

thats what mine is, if its stolen between 10pm and 6am and it wasnt in the garage i have double excess, which would take it to £1500.......chances are i wouldnt even entertain a claim, not worth it in the long run. with higher premiums, all they need is an excuse to start asking 8 or even 900 for insurance.

I had my Bandit stolen off my front garden while I had my tea - had the same as Ralph with the excess, although I managed to point out that my policy doesn't have set hours, and being a shift worker I don't finish work at 5pm, hence the bike being out of the garage at 7pm - I don't ever leave the bike outside any more, straight into the garage and ground anchor/disk lock/padlocked garage every time!
