Thanks for replys will have to investigate the weekend. In regards to the rev counter I think that was normal tbh.

just been out again speedo and rev counter are being wild and bike is bumpy

First port of call is make sure the Battery Connections are fine as you said the bike is also "Bumpy" , seem to remember a Curvy SV having the same issue a long time ago . If the bike was behaving in a smooth fashion I would then move onto the front Speedo Rotor and see how many bits that has decided to lunch itself into . If that is in bits then get a new one from the dealer or on the board here but make sure you get the correct one for your year . I went through 3 in succession on my Pointy until I examined one of the Wheel Bearings and found that the metal plate on the bearing that makes it a "Sealed Bearing" had come away a bit and was forcing my Speedo Rotors to get crushed when the tiniest ingress of muck appeared .
