Just as a thought, why don't we look for 4/5 places to meet so that there's one nearish for everyone and cycle through locations.
Sometimes you would have to ride further than others but it would seem only fair.

weekdays are out for me as i've gotta look after the kids whilst the wifes at work but any excuse to go for a bimble at the weekend and meet up for an hour or so sounds good.

Grand idea, looking at how this list is shaping up with locations it's the only way to be fair for everyone

We could come round your house I should have asked for day of week preference too!

I think we'll have to talk about this proper at the March rideout to make more sense of it but atleast we have an idea of interest for now

So....things to discuss so far are:

1) Do we rotate the location to share the long distances for all? If so what locations...I'm thinking Ely or thereabouts, Thetford, Eye, Norwich, Wisbech etc.

2) If we don't want to rotate location where would we aim for? It needs to be somewhere like Thetford to place the location somewhere fairly central to all

3) What time of the week is do-able for all/most? I think the once a month meet up for all the EAR should be on a weekend day, do all agree? Not so sure about the weekly thing...it might make more sense to be a weekday

4) Is this realistically gonna be do-able?...how prepared are people to travel the distance required sometimes? Would it make more sense just to arrange adhoc meetings? How flexible is everyone?

Or we could just say red lodge on a saturday, put up on here if you are going on the friday and see if it becomes regular or not!
I think if we get too organized it will be a chore if its wet or cold! And i can bet people will not turn up.
For instance in summer time me and the other half quite often end up stopping at the McDonalds service area on the norwich/lowestoft road.If i was planning to head that way i could put it up and some people might be able to go.
If someone else is out and about they can say where and me might all find new places to go.
Just some ideas to think about.

That is the trouble trying to please everyone makes it an almost impossible task

After this weekend visiting red lodge it might just look like a totally do-able thing just going there once a week, atleast once the days start lasting longer and the temps come up...and red lodge looks like a good location for ALL too

Looks like I'll have to start trying to plan my rides out more and giving a little notice upfront on here too, currently I just decide on a whim and go

+1 on the chore - just let things flow and arrange as we go, too much structure and people just wont bother.
+1 on the mcdonalds - I normally stop in there nearly every weekend over summer for a drink whilst I'm out on a ride

Pants....here's a route that's about the most fun I can make it bypassing the A11 by adding 30 mins on the journey time. You're coming from Northapton though and I can't see a way of cutting out all the A14....only some

Maybe we need north, south, east and west groups

I think you might just be right, let's have a good chat about it at the red lodge rideout...
