I drive to Manchester airport every week along that route, you turn off just after the pub and then you don't pass another camera.

I was in Manchester last week (someone was jumping off a bridge at the time) and bloody hell you have some nice police cars up there Pete! All I saw was 5 series estates on the motorways and in the city centre, there was an unmarked orange focus ST dealing with the jumper. I know they are nice to have but surely they can change the cars and the you would be able to save a few jobs?

Was it near Birch Services on the M62?

I was there in my 330, but we don't have a focus, it may have been a member of the public. The 530's are old, there's not many left now.

This was right in the centre of town where the A6 passes under the mancunian way, Thursday afternoon around 4ish. Must have been a busy afternoon with the Greek footballers marching about too!

There was tons of police on the M6 between Warrington and Kendal on Wednesday afternoon, never seen so many on a single stretch of road, it certainly slowed me down that for sure lol

But riders are taking a short-cut, making it impossible to prove how fast they were going.
I despise and protest this incredible slander!

OBVIOUSLY no bikers have been caught by then because they were not contravening the speed limits. Pah. The temerity.

Strange article. Its only failed if the number of death hasn't decrease, its not about catching speeders.

What are the figures since installing i wonder? Sheer incompetence for not predicting the shortcut route.

Nice of them to admit their actual revenue generating agenda and drop the whole ridiculous "safety" façade.

You don’t even need to turn off the road to beat this system, on the most interesting part of the route. There is only one set of cameras between Macc and the Cat which is most peoples favourite bit. As long as you pull in for a brew or just simply turn back at the Cat car park, the system can’t average you. The next set of cameras is right after the pub as per the photo. There are about four sets going down the straighter part to the Buxton side which used to be blighted by poor surface anyway, but that is now sorted.

There is an extra set between the pub and Macclesfield now... Not that it makes any difference at all.
