Yes you can do a HPI check via Experian from just a chassis number. Most dealers or car traders can do this.

My mate used him the other week, and it worked fine.

Having had numerous track and now race bikes, i think i must be a bit old fashioned (yes i am oldish)
but i only ever buy or sell a bike with a V5.
Even when looking though online adverts i always look at bikes that only have V5's.
Even if they are more expensive.
Sorry for all those lads that are out of pocket tho !
