Thanks, wise words. I think I'm more confident now I know I've got decent tyres on. I didn't really ave a benchmark before now. Don't get me wrong I'm not THAT slow I'm just taking steady steps. Just wanted to feel like I can give it a bit more and the comments have helped. I'll be busy this weekend manning up on corners and practicing wheelies yee ha! |

I finished scrubbing mine in on our EAR rideout a couple of weeks ago. They have been good over the winter months and are feeling great now the roads are drying out. Looking forward to the extended life compared to my last couple of sets - roadattacks and BT020's.

Yep, I'm definitely in the "if you don't trust your tyres, change them" camp. I went from the OEM rubber (awful) to Roadsmarts (brilliant), then to Michelin Pilot Road 2s, which I had absolutely zero confidence in.
They were put on in the middle of a rainy winter, so scrubbing in took forever - and I never got to grips with them (if you'll pardon the pun). A puncture gave me an excuse to go back to Roadsmarts (again, brilliant), and now I have Bridgestone BT-023s, which I decided to try out this past November. So far, these have seemed pretty great - it'll be interesting to see how they do when the weather heats up a bit. But I don't think there's an absolute right or wrong choice for the SV. If you feel comfortable using a particular set, then that's the right set for you. And that could change from year to year, too. |

Have had roadsmarts on the SV for a while now, probably about 6,000 miles.
Been happy with them through summer, winter, and at a cold but drying Brands Hatch in November, was happy showing a clean pair of heels to more than a couple of bikes in Inters. But then, I've been happy riding on several sets of tyres which have been slagged of in both this, and other threads as "rubbish". So I've come to the conclusion my riding style isn't terribly fussy about rubber, or maybe everyone else is just way better than me. ![]() Jambo

How do the Roadsmarts rate for wear? The D207e I mention earlier in the thread (Roadsmart compound on an old design carcass) are wearing very quickly it seems.
