Really looking forward to this. Will be trying for tickets to the ceremonies, athletics, velodrome, slalom kayaking, cycling road race. The cycling time trial is free, so if I don't get anything I will be going to this at the very least.

I love just about any sport apart from hockey, the ball hurts, and squash, the ball hurts.

Really looking forward to it, even though my PB didn't get me into the top bombing event.

Seriously though, as it stands i will watch it indoors 'case i is lazy, fat and ugly (That should cover all angles). Like most years i will get into all the track and field events except the long runs, and the cycling. Also the beach volleyball and the equestrian i think i watched quite a bit of at the China Olympics. Lets hope we see some more medals fro the brits in 2012 thats for sure. We done good last Olympics.

This morning I went for an interview in the Excel centre in Docklands London for the Olympic Boxing event - volunteer team. Helping run the event etc.

While I was there, and after, I took some time to look at the progress so far. I know that there is a big difference of opinion in the UK about why or if we should host the games, but I have to say it's massively impressive so far.

There is still a huge way to go I know, but from what I can see so far it's a fantastic achievement and I honestly believe that it'll be a games to remember. Like the games or not, I reckon it'll show the UK in a good light. (oops slipping into interview speak). Watch out skeptics it's coming and it'll be great!

We still won't win enough friends internationally to get a decent vote at Eurovision though!

Not looking forward to it.
Worked it out prior to not putting any ticket bids in it would be about £600 a head for a decent event cough velodrome cough (2 nights hotel and that howling down on the bike)

I won't rant about the costs etc... as I could do a 20 page thread on that topic

We decided for four of us it would be a bit pricey so we'll be watching on TV. Wifey and I just pointed out to the boys that they'll see far more on TV anyway. The flame is going with a mile or so of the house though, so that we will go and see.

Overtime for specialisms....*rubs hands*.

Nah, seriously though, I think it is a good thing. Even though we are paying out just now, I think we will recoup the funds due to the tourism and stuff it will attract...I hope....!

Was hoping to go on the middle weekend but unfortunately did not get any of the tickets we asked for...the same as everyone else I know...which was odd. Would've been nice to have seen something by actually being there before I die...not that I'm bitter or anything...grr.
