you seen me a cppl weeks ago YC.

i'm slimmer Lance at 10.5st and 11.5 kitted up. which is better than the 16st i was 8 months ago.

the shokky was valved and sprung for someone at 10-11 stone.

They are adjustable for compression damping aren't they? Have you wound that off a bit?

yup but if i wind the compression down the bike starts to wallow a wee bit. there aint much difference in the actual adjustment from full on to full off its a very narrow scale.

i am a bit anal/methodical when it comes to pulling/putting bike parts together. oil is silkolene rsf 5 wt and air gap was at 102mm, i have all the necessary tools for the job. i might have missed something but i doubt it as i followed the service manual.

I would try 7W oil and 125 gap.

hhhmmm never thought of increasing the air gap.

wouldn't 7wt slow the forks down though?

Rebound is problem on stock forks, need more valving.

i'm slowly coming to that conclusion.

i'll try it again at the weekend and see how i get on. funny thing is the bike seems to settle down at about 70mph and feels really really planted. get to 80 and above and it starts to get a wee bit skittery. between 50-70 its a bit bumpy and up to 50 its nice and stable.
