That is how it is spossed to work. Need some thicker washers then.

Does it even have play when torqued up properly? That would snap frame going down that theory. They are normally pretty snug going in, but with some axial play even when tight.

Try putting spacer (bearing inner) and washers in without the linkage, torque it up. I bet there is no play in spacer then.

Yep you are right on that... I just went out and tried to turn the washers (should have thought of that earlier ). They are tight so the bearing must be really shot.

Next to improvise a stand so I can get it off. I read that axle stands on reversed footpegs work OK.

I'll wait for the spares to come through tho.
