They must get different compound or something or they're lying.

You could ride like a nun over here and I doubt you'd get more than 10k on most tyres.

I'm suspicious !!

you do get different compound tyres in the states as opposed to europe! some tyres you cant even get across the pond. Thing is tho. He lives where there are high temps why would you specifically choose a wet weather tyre? even michelin say the pr2 is better in the dry.

Meh, my rear PR2 has just expired (I noticed before the canvas appeared!) but I'm looking forward to trying out the PR3, its never gonna get hot enough to do that here if it was just that simple.
I get 10k from my PR2 rears, did 6k on a BT016 but the PR2s are great for wear, the harder compound keeps it working well, I have worn the softer compound down again.

Two possibilities:
1: He'd been playing away with local farmer's wife/daughter & had a load of buckshot fired at him. Even YC can't outrun that stuff! ( every time - not that he would )
2: He'd had it dyno'd

good point,

tbh i know somone who runs these on a vfr800 and rates them very highly ibn the wet. hes a super smooth rider and his tyres get a LOT hotter than mine after a few miles.

when they were first released guys from bridgestone etc said they wouldnt last due to heat and if they did they would be going "back to the drawing board" i wonder if this is something they were talking about?

Had my rear tyre had done that i wouldve shat my frilly undies and changed the front straight away. Will be following that thread closely as im curious of the outcome. Im sure Michelin will slither out of it somehow.
