Best I have had is 62mpg from Leana, but, mostly around town or fully loaded (panniers & pillion) I am getting about 45mpg, so, she isn't too thirsty. Does go like a scolded cat when asked to tough, ha ha

45 mpg is good . I'm only getting 52 mpg average on the 650.
But I think I'd opt for a Falco . Same sort money as the sv 1000 s

The only thing I would consider swapping Leana for would be more expensive & less comfortable. The fact is she can shift when needed, happily will do a days riding without "batting an eyelid," will do anywhere from 45 to 60mpg, can carry two up & 35kg of luggage no bother, I can get knee-down on her piece-of-**** & she is cheaper to maintain than most bikes I would want

Which issues do you mean and which parts are problematic?

They have a few common issues, but really it's little worse than the SV to be honest. Reg/rec failures, speedo sensor failures etc. About the worst "common" fault is the starter sprag clutch which is quite expensive to replace with Aprilia parts, but you can use KTM or BMW parts which are the same but quite a bit cheaper. I don't know about the Falco, but I'd have to say the standard of finish on the RSV is well above the SV - though of course it was a much more expensive bike when new, and what makes a carefully owned one such a bargain at the moment.

Any niggles pale into insignificance after you ride one though

Every bike has common issues. Some of them can be easily prevented, from what you've mentioned, I had a dead spedo sensor. Not bad for 2.5 years and 25k in my opinion.

I wouldn't say parts are more difficult to source than for an SV1000SZ.
