What happens if you disconnect that? It seems logical it could be something like that. Or maybe a coil breaking down under load.

If the air box pressure sensor is what is described as (intake air position sensor - IAPS) we did test that with a multimeter following the tests shown in the workshop Manual and it seemed fine, we didn't however take the bike for a run with it disconnected, but may be worth disconnecting it and trying again. We swapped both coils over from my bike and this didn't stop the issue so I think they can be ruled out. My pal is just about ready to throw the towel in and leave it at a main dealers really gutting to not be able to find the problem though as I got him into bikes and said if he got the same bike as me we could sort any problems out as we can swap parts ![]() Also im guessing a main dealer would charge many hours labour re-checking all the things we have. All the input so far has been very helpful! We need to check the fuel jets still, but its starting to look a bit too "technical" for us. Last edited by lol omg wtf; 12-07-11 at 07:33 PM. |

An 04 pointy will not have fuel jets, they are fuel injected.
Intake air position sensor could (and I am guessing here) be related to the secondary butterflys in the intakes, they are ECU controled and rely on a sensor to tell the ecu where they are so it can adjust them as it sees fit. |

Nothing like a challenge eh.
You tried dealer mode and check for codes? Any FI light while problems occur?

might sound a bit daft but have you checked the vacuum spigot nipples on the throttle bodies as one may be cracked or loose?
