Bridgestones were the same for me...about 2500 miles..avons 3500-4000..had one sv from new and i think i changed original set after a front puncture..metzeler? a pic i've just found of it suggests there was plenty tread left on front..
After that set went on, a sheep destroyed that bike...so I got a new bike, with avons..liked them, so kept getting them..

May still go for sports tour tyres, just not maxxis...as long as they stick to the road, i'm happy.

Still doesn't make sense. If you're wheelying all the time, you'll wear out the rear a LOT quicker because you're loading and stressing the tyre more. Not convinced the roads on Harris, Uist etc will result in the front wearing at the same rate either. Super sports tyres on these type of roads will never get up to temparature as they're designed for fast high speed cornering.

If you are wearing the front at the same rate as the rear then the only thing I can think of is that you're braking deep into or braking through the corner all the time.

Don't think I braked deep too often, but may have been without realising..the lad who bought my 02sv hasn't had same issue, so I don't know the answer.
My fzr600, 400rr and cbr600f in the 90's wore normally.2 rears to 1 front.
Anyway, going to get a new set of some other tyre and see how it goes..
