Big miles don't necessarily make you a good rider. I've known fairly new riders who've appeared to have been riding for years, with excellent machine control and road skills - conversely, I've known old hands who still make stupid basic mistakes and who still crash far too often for anyone's liking.

Some people have it, others don't. That doesn't mean if they are a crap rider then they should give it up, because even they enjoy themselves despite the broken bones and regular insurance claims

Probably in the region of 150-160k over the last 7 years I think. Giving it up shortly to emigrate though, I'd gladly cycle instead

Im at about 90k in total. 15k(2 years) on my scooter, 72k(10 years) on the SV and i reckon about 7 or 8k(year) on my 50 when i was 16 and my name is Ian. I also know another Ian thats done a fair few miles on two wheels and thats probably in the LOTS level.

I did around 15K miles in my first 2 years but now do less than 2k a year, sometimes less than 1k if no track days.

I never incited that doing more miles made anybody a better rider, only more experienced, even if only at doing more miles.
