As said the stands utilising the swingarm pivot are far more useful, Abba are one make as are NWS, both have their benefits and down sides, for a while company called Superpro made the same kind of thing with the benefits of both the other types (universal fitting and easy large handle), which is what I use, although they come up secondhand infrequently I'd grab one of those if you can.

Here's an image

Oh the point of what to do with the front, once these stands are fittted a small peice of wood and a bottle jack is all that's required to lift the front wheel of the deck.

Cheers Mark.

If you can't (don't want to) stretch to an ABBA, then Bike did a review of paddock stands a month or 2 back. Pretty sure I kept it, I'll have a llok and scan it for you.

Dont buy 'BIKE IT' ones! They are cheap for a reason. I did and they are flimsy garbage that are well tricky to use as well. Especially the front. I have had a few near misses in the garage with it.

If not I've got that mag kicking round somewhere.

My recommendation you can't get anymore. It was one of the few things from motrax that doesn't disintegrate once used once.

I got this one:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/BIKETEK-MOTO...3494661&sr=8-1

which was in the bike magazine top 5 & way cheaper than the alternatives. Worked OK for me so far.

At least its braced, until the paddock stand I had.

Watch out for it slipping off those rubber pads, mine did, hence why I got an ABBA

I must admit it's a bit awkward with the rubber pads making sure you don't get them tangled in the brake lines & scottoiler. I hadn't seen those Abba stands before, time to keep an eye on fleabay!

You can buy hooks and bobbins to replace those rubber pads, which are a bit better & easier to use
