I'd be scared the back cover would come off, leaving the phone and battery bouncing down the road, with the plastic back cover still velcro'd to the bike..

funnily enough I've been given one of these to try this evening, although the ram mount clamps around the bars, I'll try it tomorrow and see how it does in comparison to the HG one I normally use.

Cheers Mark.

My HTC has a normal 3mm Jack plug. The bike has a 12volt "cigarette lighter" adaptor, so plug the 12v charger in, then plug the 3mm jack plug.

My tank bag map pocket has a zip on the side, so slide the phone into the map pocket & zip it up. You dont need to look down too often as she tells you which way to go anyway.

I will take a photo tonight of how it's set up because it looks like a load of gobbledegook what I've written above

Purely velcro but it is rock solid - phone is wide enough for 3 strips. With the 7 quid protective case from the market that wraps around the phone its got no way of slipping out and i can take it out of that any time i need to look a little less DIY, and hey another 7 quid can get me a new one in sparkly pink if i change my mind on the colour scheme.

Sometimes i struggle to even yank it off :-O when i actually want the phone so its certainly not going anywhere without intentional peeling.

I did plan to wrap it in some kind of plastic but have found as its tucked nicely under the screen directly on the rev counter, the screen keeps it bone dry unless i'm not moving and the wind is blowing the rain behind the screen. Looks epic having a 4.3in screen too I can see the top of the rev counter needle just over the top when its in midrange and thats fine by me too. Not ever missed it since doing it.

ASDA's now selling car satnav with Western Europe maps for £69. Wire in a 12v socket under the seat for £5. Get a waterproof bag for with ram mount for £30 and you've got a great system that normally would cost £250 for a bike for £100.
