We got an aeg. induction hob and it is excellent. make sure you look st output as some are a bit under powered. want list of heat settings to as it makes them so controllable, at least 15 and i found you can be more accurate than will gas. You will be amazed how quickly you can get thing to boil on fall power. takes a bit of getting used to but worth it

What Ed said about induction. Plus, they are much safer as they don't get as hot.

We got an all-electric range with 5 induction plates - blimmin' brilliant

The hobs have a fast-heat mode which really is the mutts and like Ed says, they are every bit as responsive as gas and nothing like the old hot-plate type rings.

Don't confuse induction and ceramic - they are not the same thing. Induction is more expensive and your pans need to be ferromagnetic.

Big vote here for induction.

My bros just got induction hob purely for safety of his 2yr old. Looks awesome but he had to go and but new pans. Even his tefals didnt work.

He is very pleased with it, I will purchase one when I have kitchen done.

Friend of ours swears by their new and very pricey induction hob, instant control etc. Ceramic ones are a bit slow I think, cue pans boiling over etc.
