As it happens i can strip cable pretty darn good with side cutters, its all about the pressure, cut in enough to break the outer sheathing but not enough to cut through the cable itself.

I've got a crappy looking RS pair that works a treat. Shame they don't make that model any more.

Depends what kind of cable you are using though. If it's a softer flex like butyl they won't be much use and you'd be better just using side cutters
I've used these for over 20 years without any issues whatsoever and they're the first thing I use for wire stripping in all cases. Failing these, side cutters then a Stanley knife would be my tools of choice.

i use scissors just enough pressure tho and spin around, comes right off
