not quite true as some products like the one i use(puncture safe) are pretty good at stopping tyres going down, and i know people should check for nails and screws in tyres and check pressures regular, but the stuff i use aint a get you home foam and can be put in for the life of the tyre and doesn't unbalance the wheel, ive used it in 3 or 4 tyres with out problem, twice on nearly new tyres on my b6 which had punctures and then used them for another 5 or 6k with out the tryes going flat again

Where did you buy it? and how much? was thinking of goop as it's on £8.95 for both tyres, but this and slime stay as a liquid and puncture safe doesn't I believe.

i think my local bike shop does it,and its about £23 for a bottle on ebay, and a 1 litre(approx) bottle will do about 2 tyres or more depending on size

As said it's not a forget about it product but slims the chance of a blowout and can extend tyre life. If I had my pick I'd try ultraseal, it's in all the royal mail vans and I've not heard of it drying out before - I've seen a guy demo it riding up and down the street full pelt over sharp objects, stopping to stab the tyre then happily hopping back on and p1ssing about on the bike.

But, to be honest I've never bothered (touch wood) ...will probably regret that.

Actually yeah I did hear they changed names, thought ultraseal was the new name was trying to remember if puncture safe was the previous but it didn't ring a bell...it may be that puncture safe is the new name.
I've seen people reuse it at new tyre time!
