Paint spraying suggestions?

Interesting thread - I was going to start one about a similar thing (my mirrors and lower fairings need re-doing).

However, for the mirrors I reckon aftermarket replacements would probably work out cheaper than any re-spray (either at home or at a workshop!?).

Dunno what to do about my lower fairings though. TBH I've never liked then and they foul the action of the rear brake so I may just get rid.

Tbh I perfere the bikini version of any sv. Not the biggest fan with all the fairing, I like to show of the twins haha.

I painted some of my fairings earlier today, 2 coats of metallic black. I'm going to use wet and dry (1200 grit) on them, then one more coat, then 2 coats of lacquer. they look really good already. I was quite stringent with the rubbing down, NEVER think the paint is going to cover any scratches as they will all show through. The panel needs to be baby smooth before any paint goes on.
I used 2 coats of primer, then 400 wet and dry, so they were super smooth before applying top coat. I bought some paint from bikepaint.co.uk 2 cans were £40! so I am using a Halfords rough match for the rear fairings. (BMW cosmos black) . I think there is a compound I need to use on the lacquer, to make them shine well, I'll Google it later.
Mines a 2000 curvy, metallic black. then I'm selling it, and going back to a 125 boo hoo.
