+1 for TCX (competizione gtx). The best boots i have had by a long way. Also, As mch as i enjoy a low price i am finally coming round to the fact that goretex is usually worth the cost.

Had the spadas (or their previous version) before and they were comfy enough and waterproof (they were the wp version) at first but after a while, probably under a year albeit in all weathers, they were starting to let water in, getting kinda baggy and the stitching and soles were not looking too healthy.

My tcx jobs felt miles apart, qualitywise, and they still feel really solid with little sign of deterioration. I think i picked them up for £150 as it was an old version. Well worth the extra moolah i reckon. Seek and ye shall find!

Peg has Alpinestars goretex boots. Web, I think. Totally waterproof for 100k plus. Only reason he bought new ones, which I think are the same is because he wore the sole out. I'll have look what alpinestar goretex he has now, they're similar model, and were about 130 quid

I've used Sidi Black rains, however both pairs I have started leaking within about a year ~ 10k.

Mate of mine has those Spada ones - both toe sliders have fallen off in less than 2 years!!

I've just bought a pair of RST TracTech. £110 and have been waterproof in the last couple of weeks of downpours we've had.

Thanks for all the suggestions, just got a pair of boots, ended up getting a pair of Lindstrands Max Tour
I found the TCX to be a tight fit, shame as they're good boots. Spada did fit but wern't that robust

I'll keep everyone posted to see how they hold up

I just bought some A* Hydrostars for £130, probably the same boot. Only done a couple of hundred miles but they are comfy and waterproof..

I would have had some more A* SMX Goretex jobbies but those were now £200! My old ones have been great boots, lasted 5 years and many thousands of miles before finally dying.
