Zig, what are you using now?
What is your issue with them?

I have got 10,000 miles + from the following rears:
Pirelli Diablo Strada / Metzler Z6 (Now replaced by the Z8 )
Michelin Pilot Road 2
Dunlop Roadsmart

all the above have also been well behaved on track.
In short, just about any modern sports-touring tyre will be perfect.

I do a London commute (28 mile round trip) so guess this is something I should know.
Well if it wasnt for Mr Pold and his friends i'd keep these on till i saw canvass, alas the boys in blue seem to not like that idea.
This is why im annoyed...

You can see its past the tread wear indicator already, i didnt even notice tbh, it was TSM who pointed it out at Soho.

There's great news here.
There are soooo many decent tyres now that you've got to try hard to get it badly wrong.

Best possible tyre life & grip: Any of the current duel compound sports touring tyres (dunlop roadsmarts, michelin pilot road 2 or 3, Bridgestone BT023 etc)

Good life and lower cost: Single compound sports touring tyre: Avon Storm Ultras, Dunlop D207E Continential Conti-motion, Maxxis Supermaxx

None of these are bad tyres, so there's plenty of options.

Talk to Mick @ Essential

He's not going to stitch you up and he'll be able to give you some options and costs.

stop horsing it off the lights and cracking the throttle open in straight lines then and maybe just then your tyres will last. ooorrr your shock is burgerd.

storm 2 ultras, i'm on 4.5k rear and only half done. front is hitting 9k and needing replaced soon and i don't ride like a pussy so gawd knows what your doing.
