That's completely irrelevant

Isn't the hooliganism half the attraction of this flippin' sport?

Unfortunately, it's primal, violence at sporting events or events that attracts rivals, has been happening since the dawn of time.

Only takes a few to start then pack mentality takes over, it's in our genes.

It may be primal but our mentalities are supposed to have evolved just a tad since the days when we did the whole Man kill food, Ugg thing. I say "supposed to", obviously some people would be quite at home living in those times

Our mentalities haven't evolved that much, there's a few layers of civilisation on top but we still react on instinct a lot of the time.

Because England were playing. Think of watching an England match like having a conversation with Ed Miliband. There is no way it can end without you wanting to smash someone's face in.

Coming from Bedford (thankfully not being English) I can tell you this - if England had won they'd have done exactly the same. The average Bedfordian football fan is a mouth breathing knuckle dragger who has trouble remembering all his possible fathers' names - actually, you can remove the words 'football' and 'fan' from my statement.

Any excuse for a punch up, which is why I'm always happy to move away from the dump and never ever go out in the town centre at night.

Having spent an enjoyable night with friends just out of Bedford town centre that night (football was watched) on the way home in a taxi we seen several hooligan non Italian types descending on the town centre. Glad I was going the opposite direction.
