As part of a 50+ bike rideout today i have to say most riders coming in the oposite direction just had the startled rabbit expression (not one nod).

I generally just raise my hand until they are all past me - road conditions allowing.

common thing to just get ignored now, gave 2 nods today, got one back.

Although to be fair, when im in the car I dont go waving and nodding at every car going the other way, as essentially when on the bike im simply using a form of transport that other people also use.

And how do I know the person behind that visor isnt an axe murderer, rapist etc, they might be a right arrogant tosser who I wouldnt say hi to if I walked past them on the pavement.

I got a few nods as I was waiting by the dual carriage way in my gear today, waiting to signal to my lift to take the next left. My bike had broken down in the carpark at work.

Gave me something to do.

I'm just visualising you doing that and at about 8 seconds you've just rear-ended the car in front!

I tend to do the front, middle and end nods for big groups
