its more of a baby vfr than a cbr I suppose, but it was ticking all the boxes for me until the sv got mentioned to me!
Each have got their pros and cons and it is fairly evenly balanced! Just edging towards the sv now hence the original question, but will a potentially 7 year old bike (in 2 years ish when my restriction is up) be reliable or will it be a money pit!
My triumph speed fours got 13000 miles on it and is 9 years old.

Its certainly not a money pit and theres no reason an SV should be either if you look after it, Plus i think if you get it derestricted there'll be no need to sell it because you'll get that extra power.

Probably a safer route than jumping from a 250 stright to a full on sports bike.

Plus you'll have had 2 years of free language tuition learning to understand northern speak, which could be invaluable if climate change carrys on and they all invade the south.

Not just that think of the parts... sv's are a common bike (sort of, well popular )
& its got the torque which comes in handy for many things...

i can sit in 6th doing 3000rpm doing 30 & easily pulls up to 60 laughing... my socks off

but then again i did come off a tuned 50 2stroke screamerr

also think of two up capacity's ? as after the test your legal to have a pillion on.
