I'm sure I'm going to get flamed on this but check to make sure you are going to be comfortable in the riding position of the gsxr for long periods of time. I stuck on heli bars on the front which helped but still find the suspension very very firm. Also the luggage pannier options are limited, so far I have seen rentec rack or ventura. My custom rack went awol courtesy of Farce2go.

hong your a short arz just like me in fact your only about 1" taller so your living in fairy land thinking you can get on a triple or gsxr safely without lowering it. i seen you sitting on the srad m8 and you were doing a ballet dancer act. don't be a fool and factor in money to lower what ever you get so its SAFE.

Lack of a screen annoyed me on my Hornet which is why I've just bought a K5 GSXR 600. Pros- Great sounding engine, quick, good handling, screened from wind blast, kerb appeal . Cons- Uncomfortable! I've found that small ajustments make a massive difference. Angling levers down as far as they go has helped wrists and back. Also riding with balls of feet on pedals most of the time takes weight off the back (maybe I'm teaching granny to suck eggs).

I'm only 5'7 and can get one foot flat on floor which is safe enough for me.

I could be wrong (often am) but i'm sure he could get one foot flat on Chris' 750 at GM. Hence why hes so keen.

Mate whatever you get, remember we've all got to have the same bike for next years trip so we look like bummer boys

Opinion polls are good, but you won't be happy with a bike someone else chooses for you. Go out, take your time, test ride =)

Take your time and you'll be one very happy bunny !!

750, same agility as the 600, but less tiring on long trips as its not a buzzy.

But I would say that..

Doubt the Street Triple will slow you down it has the torque of a 750 just doesnt rev as hard in the powerband. It goes all the way up to just short of 150mph and a 100mph is there in a blink of an eye

For me the GSXR600 is a great bike but if you're doing a fair bit of touring go with the GSXR750 over the 600. The street triple is great too but for me there are just so many of them out there now, I think I'd want something a bit different.

I really like this GSR pwoooarrr!
