I won't buy a helmet without the Double D Retention ring. Simply because they're proven to be safer, and I just hate the clips them selves. They seem uncomfortable.

Yeah I've looked at a couple sharks and they look nice and are rated highly. However in order to get the Double D retention you have to spend over £200. And my budget is about £170.

I've now found the AGV Stealth SV on a few sites. And some Say Double D. Some Say Micro lock. Could somebody confirm what they actually have?

Where is the proof of this? I prefer double D (on my wife and my helmet ) simply because it's simple and I've used it for 30 years or so, but I' don't believe the other fasteners are unsafe.

I'm not saying the others aren't safe.

I've read a few things a while back about some Micro Locks etc breaking under force, it's just piece of mind really.

Also I can't undo them with winter gloves. But I can Double D...

Nolan (especially the x-lite arm) have went to the micro locks wholesale.
I had no issues in the 2 years and 21k I used it for, they can slip when they're over tight (but jump back one and lock in), the issue is that the points are "pre-set" as such at 2-3mm internals.

For ease of use they're brilliant, but I prefer 'D' rings TBH. Will buy another one with the lock in the future.

Anyways back to OP, there is another similar AGV was called the K4 but its got a new name now, Couple of Sharks, Arai (if you've got the cash for it).

My stealth is D ring (albiet I need to get a new one as its goosed) and the Horizon (its replacement) is d ring http://www.customlids.co.uk/index.ph...6EcgKiLbLi8e/0

Each to their own I guess then.

And that horizon looks nice! Too bad about the price though, can't afford that much right now and really need a new helmet. The stealth is a nice choice for the price. And so far it's still in the lead for me
