My main take away from that article was that it is using a formula 1 engine.... as a fuel pump!!!

Been following this for some time. Deeply cool.

There was a lovely interview a while back where one of the main engineers said they'd been talking with Richard Noble about doing a 1,000mph car and telling him it was quite impossible. So then they set out to prove why it would be impossible, and started breaking down each of the challenges you'd need to get past. Well, that kind of looks like an engineering project now doesn't it?

It sounds like they couldn't decide what to run it on-
How about an F1 engine, they're fast.
How about a jet engine, they're faster.
How about a rocket, they're faster.
.
.
.
How about all three?!

That car or should I say the concept car was at northampton college when i was doing my apprenticeship in painting.

I was on the news ages ago standing next to it and chatting to richard noble. I was presenting a project of mine at the same time too!

I'll have to dig out some pics, and I must say the thing is huge!
