Default Re: Ebay: Someone selling a 250cc L plated as learner legal?

Convo I had with the dip**** (start from the bottom up obviously)

Dear ,

Well yoi are welcome tp your coments but no use as i no i can ride it on a cbt ! Thaks for the greef !

Dear debbiemonz,

I'm afraid it doesn't, it's the engine capacity that dictates learner legal motorcycles. I know this for a fact. Otherwise every kid would be out there buying old Fireblades and restricting them to 10kw.

Dear,

Hi again on my v5 it states it has 10 kw power ! So makes it legal to ride

Dear debbiemonz,

Sub-category A1 (light motorcycle)

Sub-category A1 motorcycles used for tests must:

be a solo motorcycle
be between 120cc and 125cc
be no more than 11kW engine power
be capable of at least 55mph

The bhp is irrelevant, it's the engine capacity that matters and it HAS to be a maximum of 125cc until you pass your A2 motorcycle license.

Dear ,

Hi lets get thing straight before you start e mailing me it is reg as the same power as a 125 it was down graded on the dyno to 10kw of power .whitch meens you can inshure and ride it on a cbt whitch i have .i have bn puled of the police and chequed out and i wad fine .! Do you think i would sel it to some young kid .and rip him of if wasent legal i am not that type of person thanks for your usles comett !

Dear debbiemonz,

You better change your listing, only 125's and below are learner legal. Get it changed before some poor kid buys a bike he simply won't be able to ride legally.

The seller is an utter waste of space! I had a similar conversation with him. Either he's lying about the police letting him on his way or the copper was very uneducated.

The L plates aren't even legal, front and side but no rear?

if he can't reply using English .There's less chance of him understanding the UK laws regards to learner legal..
