Default Re: Bike transport from Devon to Surrey area???

Whenever I've used a tail lift for bikes the vans have been rated 400kg, so plenty of power left. But that's the not the difficult bit. The difficult bit is turning a bike that is slightly longer than the van is wide, from sideways, to point into the van, by yourself, when you're 3-4 foot off the ground. It's parptastic!

Default Bike transport from Devon to Surrey area???

Bike on tail lift diagonal corner to corner, then a 3 or 4 point turn to inch it round until the front will roll into the van.

The earlier pic of the SV on the tail lift is deceiving, the bike's not as wide compared to the van as it looks

www.shiply.com

Put in the details of what/where/when and couriers then bid for the job. There's ebay style feedback from their previous customers too which helps make a decision.

I got a bike plus a big box of spares moved from the South coast of England to the West of Scotland for £140 a couple of years ago. The lad even gave the bike a once over - started it up, checked the V5 tied up with the frame/engine numbers etc. It was cheaper because I was flexible on the delivery date so he could tie it in with other jobs in Scotland.
