Thank you every one for the kind words, I am still to hear back from the car driver in regards to the accident. I am just glad that I did not have my step daughter on the back this time.

Happy holidays folks

The woman who hit me on Wednesday afternoon finally contacted me this afternoon stating that she wished to take the matter to her insurance company. So much for her saying that she wanted to pay for the damage she had caused and not risk her no claims. My bike is being booked in to be assessed as we speak and hopefully damage is going to be minimal, limited to the dents and scratches on the can. As for me, the pain in my side is still bad enough to make walking uncomfortable and riding is out of the question for a few days yet. Thankfully she admitted to the Police that she was at fault, while still at the scene.
I take it that the insurance will want to replace the whole can, which is a standard Suzuki one, rather than try to repair the dents and scratches? This is all such a pain, why can't people just look where they are going?

Why not see if they can upgrade your can seen as it will likely be cheaper than the oem part gws

Jayne if they're going to write off the bike, ask for that as an option. It would be about a £200 job on the insurance (£120 can, £80 labour)

even though she has taken the blame watch out for the insurance company trying to catch you will 50/50. make sure you get a no fault claim.

have you contacted your insurance?

get to the doc, your pains might be worse than you think.

Hey folks, I am booked in to see a Doctor about the pain in my side and groin (following the accident last week) which continues to annoy me.

As for my bike, I am sad to report that because the person who hit me decided that she wanted to go through her insurance company, my bike is now sat in my local garage. The reason being that the Insurance company have sent out an assessor who has decided that my exhaust has enough damage to warrant a full replacement! They have also decided that my rear panel is damaged enough to need a respray because of a scratch that is less than half an inch long. The price for the exhaust is close to seven hundred pounds and I have no idea how much a respray will be on the one panel! In the mean time they are holding on to my bike until the work can be done, which once authorised will take only a couple of days.

So one week later, I am still aching and I still have no bike. Tonight is bike night and I have to walk down.
