A BOLT ON SYSTEM/KIT
So after much discussion with some people here and other forums, locals and other enthusiasts around the area, I thought I would build up a complete system as a bolt on just basically, for the hell of it. I have many turbos and a couple IHI's like the one I have now. I will build this one as a blow through as I know the values needed for any carb set up. I like stand alone EFI systems like the micro or mega squirt which I'm familiar with. So until I build one for the EFI system that is utilized by Susuki, I'll keep to this one. This system has made a great bike an awesome bike. So it's just ashamed it's not been done. But yes like all machines, there are limits and must be adhered to. Thus I will supply all the fail safes and device options that has brought up it's over-all efficiencies and kept it from breaking. A little self control has helped although, that's been tough at times! They are imperative to be part of the kit. I will also include a reduced weight stator, all the exhaust work, wrapping and how to wrap it. I'm not doing it conventionally. How and why I set the system up the way I did, also not very conventionally. There is no intercooler because this is not a race bike and takes away from fuel efficiency. If the bike is for racing only or racing and street use a discussion will be needed to implement some system design changes to meet the differences in desired use. For racing, it would need an inter cooler. There are some small changes I haven't made yet that will be part of the system. I think most all if not all bugs are worked out now. In designing other systems (not turbo related) in the past I will implement as much of a plug and play system as can be devised without a struggle. The exhaust system will also bw plug and play and is crucial to performance. If you are a real novice with no mechanical fortitude, this will not be for you. There will always be some "negotiating" with implementation that just takes an understanding of mechanical devices and or systems of this nature. However I hope as a design engineer I've done my job to make it pretty damn easy for one who can do at least a little welding, wrench turning, can use a micrometer and some soldering and proper crimping is also in order. So, I am working on building it now and may take awhile to get it all built up the way I want it before I actually sell one. As to price, I'm just now trying to get a handle on hard cost and "labor" cost with building some of the devices. In another post I will be listing all the devices it will come with. I realize the priority breather and blow off valve combination is essential as of course the boost regulation valve. Those are the two aluminum knob looking things on the charge pipe just under the tank. So I thought I'd put it out there and see if there is any interest from any would be users here. I'm sure there'll be lots of interest, the main issue for people will be cost and ease of installation.
