Internet Dating

Seems to be getting popular these days, used to be a little bit of a stigma attached to dating agencies but its gone full circle now, i think there is nothing at all wrong with it, probably safer than meeting in a pub off your trolley on booze or worse.

beauty is only skin deep. i would rather have an unattractive woman that i can actually have a conversation with then a model with no brains.

i was lucky to have gotten a fairly good looking (actually stunning in my eyes) very intelligent with a bloody good attitude towards life and other people but more importantly faithful.

Being happily married for more than I deserve I never have needed to. Although I do find you tend to meet people more when you are not actively looking.

However, I have a friend who after a very messy divorce where he has lost his faith in women has tried it. Whilst it has enabled him to dump his dirty water, he has met a few bunny boilers that have confirmed his lack of faith in women as being well founded.

Internet dating for him made things easy. obviously you knew at day one that they were looking for a potential partner. So whilst that takes the guesswork out, it also inhibits those alarm bells that they are not right as you get too keen.

Traditional routes tend to filter out bad prospects, where you are introduced through friends etc. They have weighed up the potential match and tend not to introduce their friends to psychos etc.

By all means try it. But take off the rose tints and play safe.

I realise attractiveness isnt everything, but if you dont fancy them because you arent attractive to them, its a waste of time.

I met my other half via online dating but it did take a while and I have my fair share of horror stories when it comes to meeting women online. I think it's a lot easier for us guys to meet women online where as I've heard of girl friends being contacted by all sorts of nutters. One guy posted exactly the same opening message to two of them that described his desire for water sports... if you know what I mean.

I love and hate dating websites in equal measure. They're a cracking way to meet a lot of women you wouldn't normally be able to meet, but they're also a major head fudge. You need a thick skin and a game playing attitude. People will ignore you, suddenly stop talking to you, string you along as their 2nd, 3rd, nth option and generally not treat you with the respect they would in person.

I just treat it all as a game until I finally meet someone face to face. You need to put effort in to find and meet the right people, and be sure not to invest too much emotion and hope otherwise it'll get the better of you. Also you need to just give people a go. Go on loads of dates and actually meet people, even if you're not sure they're your type. You never know!

I met the wife on line through Gaydar Girls, I also made some cool friends on there too. That was five years ago, no one thought we would last due to the meeting on line thing, but five years later, we are stronger together than ever before, while my siblings are now both divorced.

There are some genuine people out there, but there are also some complete loons. Good luck working out which is which!
